UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMME
admission in progress
Programme Description
Biochemistry is a branch of chemistry and biology that focuses on the chemical reactions that occur inside and around living things.
Environmental degradation, one of our society’s most pressing issues, is being addressed by biochemists. Biochemistry has been instrumental in our growing understanding of a wide range of health issues, from diabetes to arteriosclerosis to cancer, in the field of health research. Biochemists’ tools have identified the gene, protein, and pathway disruptions that lead to disease and, in many cases, have contributed to preventions, treatments, or cures.
Human disease treatment is heavily reliant on biochemistry.
With a degree in biochemistry, you can work in a variety of industries and fields of research, including the environment, food and agriculture, and health. Forensic scientists, toxicologists, biotechnologists, and clinical research associates are just a few of the careers that fall under this category.
